Winnie referred to the CanSurvive team as her heroes. In Winnie’s words, to show such courage and determination requires celebration.

Jason Pine was the MC for the evening. Chris Faa Foi Labour MP for Mana, Hon Hekia Parata, Sue Corkill from the Wellington Cancer Society, Fran Wilde and Prue Lamason, Wellington Regional Councillors attended in support of the launch.

The calendar, "A Celebration of Women" was launched after months of preparation and planning. This calendar profiles the members of the team, baring not just their breast but their zest for life. Just as importantly the calendar also shows beautiful women doing amazing things.

CanSurvive is a team of individuals from all walks of life and circumstances with a wish to paddle and train all year round in their own boat. To this end the launch celebrated both the fundraising calendar and these inspirational women.
