Age Concern Patron’s Award: Help us pick the winners!
Entries in Age Concern’s Patron’s award have closed and voting is now in full swing!
This year the award takes the form of an online photography competition.
We asked both the public and the media to post positive images of older people on our Facebook page and were delighted to receive more than sixty entries.
Now we need your help to shortlist entrants but there’s no time to spare. Voting closes on Thursday September 15.
So visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Age-Concern-New-Zealand/118787271476477 to vote for your favourite image. Look for the ‘Contests’ tab on the left side of the wall and read the contest instructions.
Then click the “Vote Now” tab which will take you through to a display of all the photos.
Each Facebook member can vote for one media entry and one public entry. The five pictures from each category with the highest number of votes will be shortlisted. So don’t forget to ask your friends and families to vote as well.
The category winners will be determined by Age Concern staff and invited guests voting on the shortlisted entries at an award ceremony held in Wellington on 30 September as part of International Day of Older Persons celebrations.
The Age Concern Patron’s Award was established in 2009 as a way to challenge ageist attitudes and stereotypes about growing older.
