Green Paper: IHC says early supports are vital
IHC welcomes the Green Paper’s emphasis on early support and the recognition that children become vulnerable when their
families don’t get the supports and services they need.
Director of Advocacy Trish Grant says that when families are not connected to their communities and are unable to access
good information and supports they become vulnerable.
“Families tell IHC consistently that they too often experience fragmented service delivery and have to tell their story
to government, non government and community groups,” said Trish Grant.
“We are pleased that the Green Paper acknowledges the importance of early supports. It is something that IHC has been
advocating for many years. We look forward to contributing to this debate so that the needs, rights and interests of
disabled children are central to the discussions.”
