Hay fever alert for people with asthma
The Asthma Foundation is reminding
New Zealanders that although it might not always feel like
it, spring is here, which means higher pollen counts and hay
fever, which may trigger asthma.
“It is essential for people with asthma to be aware that this can be a difficult time of year. Pollens can be a trigger for asthma attacks,” says Asthma Foundation Chief Executive, Jane Patterson.
“For this reason it is really important that people use their preventer medication as prescribed. And, an asthma self management plan is a good idea too.
“If
you are troubled by hay fever, talk to your doctor about
possible
treatments.”
