Vensa Health to present at mHealth Conference, Dubai

Auckland, New Zealand – Monday 13 September 2010
New Zealand’s Vensa Health will present on the impact of mHealth initiatives in New Zealand at the mHealth Conference and Expo in Dubai tomorrow. mHealth 2010 brings together experts in healthcare and information technology to discuss the global development of mobile healthcare and explore ways in which universal healthcare can be delivered with the aid of mobile technology.

Vensa Health Chief Executive Ahmad Jubbawey will present on the importance of mobile health and how it can assist with improving health outcomes across primary and secondary care. A case study on applications in New Zealand will highlight the success of mHealth programmes and how they have assisted with achieving Ministry of Health targets.

Ahmad Jubbawey, CEO, Vensa Health says, “There is a significant opportunity to transform healthcare delivery through the advances in technology. An increasing demand for personalised care, one billion people underserved in developing countries, and the challenges facing the health sector are the key motivators behind the emergence of mHealth.”

“In New Zealand GP providers and hospitals using our mHealth technologies have experienced impressive improvements in appointment attendance, immunisation rates and efficiency. We’ve also been able to target key government priority health targets, such as increased immunisation for 2 year olds. So we’re able to positively impact our health outcomes as a country in a really targeted way.”

Mobile Health is a recent term for medical and public health practice supported by mobile devices, such as mobile phones, patient monitoring devices, PDAs, and other wireless devices and forms part of an increasing movement towards citizen-centered healthcare delivery.

mHealth 2010 brings together leading players from across the entire mobile healthcare ecosystem. It features 35+ top executive presentations, global case studies – from Japan to Peru - and over 200 industry opinion leaders and decision makers.

mHealth 2010 is taking place between 14 and 15 September at the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach Dubai. http://www.m-healthconference.com
