TV2 show host:"Let’s fight asthma
and take the pressure off our hospitals"
Erin Simpson who presents the Erin Simpson Show weekdays on TV2 and has asthma herself is calling on New Zealanders to get behind the Asthma Foundation’s Balloon Day campaign in early May.
“We are heading into winter soon and all of us with asthma know that this can be a really challenging time, “Erin says.
The Asthma Foundation through its Asthma Societies works in communities across New Zealand helping people control their asthma so that there’s less chance they end up in hospital, a win-win for the people and our already strained health services.
“The Asthma Foundation and its Societies need our support in their vital work, so I urge people to get behind Balloon Day on 7 May and Asthma Awareness Week, which runs from 3 to 9 May this year. Their web is www.asthmafoundation.org.nz ,” says Erin.
Asthma is the leading reason for New Zealand children being hospitalised and we have the dubious distinction of having the second highest rate of asthma in the world (after the UK).
You can support the Asthma Foundation by calling 0900 4 ASTHMA (0900 4 ASTHMA) to make an automatic $20 donation.
