Rob Fyfe to give up his favourite pink clothes

Friday 15th January

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEAASE

Rob Fyfe to give up his favourite pink clothes

In the wake of the public debate surrounding the new Air New Zealand cabin crew uniform concepts from Trelise Cooper, New Zealand’s largest breast cancer charity has asked Air New Zealand Chief Executive Rob Fyfe to give up his pink ‘power wardrobe’ for a good cause.

Mr Fyfe has been wearing pink colored clothes items each day this week in support of the new uniform so the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) issued a challenge to Air New Zealand to think pink for breast cancer support programmes and research.

From 4.00 pm today New Zealanders can bid on Trade Me for the Facconable pink shirt, Paul Smith silk tie and Calvin Klein underwear that Mr. Fyfe has worn this week to champion the pink uniform designs.

The successful winner will be flown by Air New Zealand from anywhere on its domestic network to Auckland to collect the pink clothing directly from Mr Fyfe. All money raised will go to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to fund their community outreach programmes for women with breast cancer.

The challenge from the NZBCF reinforces the message of one of its October promotional items, a badge aimed at men which states that “Real Men Wear Pink”.

Executive Trustee of the NZBCF, Heather Shotter is delighted that Air New Zealand is proud to wear pink. “Internationally, pink is recognized as the color of breast cancer awareness. We are delighted to see the top executive of an iconic New Zealand company lending his support to raise funds for our cause.”

When approached to give up some of his favourite pink clothes Mr Fyfe said: “How can you pass up an opportunity to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation? I promise to have everything dry cleaned for the successful bidder!”
