New Plunket CEO announced
Jenny Prince has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society.
Carol Becker, Plunket President, says: “I am delighted to be able to announce Jenny’s appointment as CEO.
“The search for CEO has been an extensive one and the Board is confident we have found the best possible person to lead Plunket and ensure its strategy of Five Years for Under Fives becomes a reality. Jenny has a long history with Plunket and that experience will be invaluable to the organisation. Her knowledge of Plunket and passion for helping children is undeniable and having someone of this calibre can only benefit Plunket and all who work with us.”
Jenny has been part of the Plunket family for 20 years, starting as a volunteer before becoming a Plunket Nurse in the then new Clendon housing development which had a large number of young families. She was a Plunket Nurse for a number of years before taking up the role of Area Manager in Papakura and Franklin. In 2000 she headed up a national project looking at governance and operations and then went on to be Operations Manager in Counties Manukau. She was appointed General Manager of Operations in 2006. She has been Acting CEO since April this year.
Jenny says on her appointment: “I am excited and honoured to be permanently taking on the role of CEO. I believe the work we do to support families and the communities they live in is vital if we are to ensure good healthy outcomes for children. I am proud to be able to lead such a dedicated and passionate team of people who all want the best start possible for children in this country.”
