Support for Working together for Quality
Health Care Aotearoa Co Leaders Jenni Moore and Rowena Gotty were heartened by the calls for inclusive collaboration at the Royal New Zealand College of GPs Quality symposium on Friday and Saturday.
“Moves for working together on a common goal make sense. All parts of the wider primary health care sector have a role to play. This includes local Maori, youth, Pacific providers and national organisations such as Family Planning and Plunket. These services may provide health promotion initiatives, nursing and general practice said Jenni Moore”.
Health Care Aotearoa has a quality programme Te Wana that has over a hundred enrolled providers, and already a precedent to carry out joint reviews with the College of GPs quality programme “Cornerstone” has been trialled.
“These kinds of collaborative efforts mean providers can spend more of their energy looking after their patients, whilst being confident that their quality is exemplary said Rowena Gotty”.
Health Care Aotearoa is looking forward to participating in discussions about how we can work together more closely and tap into the synergy from the collective approach.
