”Curves” the largest women’s fitness franchise announces a successful 2007 year in Sponsorship.
“Another first for New Zealand”, says Kay Anderson, owner of 2 Curves Fitness Centres in Auckland NZ, as she presented the cheque for $11,000.00 to Board member Vicki Lee, at the end of year function for Look good Feel Better held at Mollies, in Herne Bay.

“Curves” and “Look Good Feel Better”, a workshop programme held in centres throughout NZ for women going through cancer treatment, “are more than putting a smile on faces. Since August and through Breast Cancer Awareness month to end of December 07, Curves has donated over, $345,000.00 in Gift Memberships to Curves Gyms, for all workshop participants and friend/support person; these are valid at all Curves throughout NZ. Kay expects to more than double this over the coming year with the first workshop for the New Year held yesterday. Wednesday 16th January, 08. She is delighted to be able to support this amazing programme.
Through raffles, club challenges, donating of joining fees, the fund raising from mid August 2007 to end of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, including December 2007, resulted in the total proceeds of $11,000.000 being able to be donated.
A Nation- Wide “Top Achiever”contest, was held, where team members, challenged each other to lose the most weight.. Successful winner was a Hastings “Curves” member, who lost 9.6kgs during the 6 Weeks Challenge. This will be an annual NZ Curves Competition, see scoop/ chong media watch.
Kay said “since the Curves mission statement is “Strengthening Women” we believe that the women participating in the workshop choosing to use our Gift, will have the power to amaze themslves as they continue to celebrate life , encouraging others to do the same not only to look good but also feel better.”.
