CanTeen in a nutshell

CanTeen is a Not for Profit Organisation providing a peer support network for young people aged 13-24 years living with cancer. CanTeen provides an environment where they can share their personal experiences, life challenges and journeys with other young people who know what it is like to have cancer, to have a sibling with cancer or to have lost a sibling to cancer.  These young people are known as ‘members’ of CanTeen.

CanTeen provides hundreds of members who have had significant loss in their lives, the skills and tools to learn to cope with the extraordinary challenges they face. The support is through high quality educational and recreational programmes that re-establish their own identity and enhance their abilities within society.

Canteen is run by its members, for its members. CanTeener’s regularly get together throughout New Zealand for summer and winter camps, weekends away, workshops, support groups, and other social and recreational events. CanTeener’s also support each other at home and in hospital.
