Michael Torchia, Wellness Expert, Alerts Public. Gov. Schwarzenegger and Pres. Clinton's "Alliance For Healthier Generation" are accepting funding From food manufacturers contributing to the Epidemic Of Obesity, health expert alerts the public how politicians are giving Junk food companies the "Halo Effect."
Los Angeles, September 25, 2007 -- Michael Torchia, Health and Wellness Expert, who founded "Children's Fitness Academy" to help fight the epidemic of childhood obesity, proposes a bill to reform and create stricter guidelines for the manufacture of packaged foods. These foods contain toxic ingredients and the companies need to be held accountable for their products.
Torchia feels Governor Schwarzenegger and Former President Clinton, as famous and immediately recognizable civic leaders, can -- more effectively than anyone else -- help end the American epidemic of obesity. Torchia says, "As such powerful political figures, they can influence, inspire and motivate people from all walks of life. So why are they accepting funding from the manufacturers of food products, filled with chemical additives and high sugar ingredients, for the fight against the epidemic of obesity? Torchia feels "it's like the Government accepting funding from the Columbian Cartel to fight the war on drugs."
People are unknowingly consuming goods, which directly and adversely affect their health. With this legislation, Torchia hopes to make Californians -- and eventually all Americans -- aware of the fact that long-term consumption of trans fats, artificial sweeteners and food dyes can lead to obesity and to the development of Metabolic Syndrome-X (MSX). This is a condition which weakens immune systems and makes people much more susceptible to type-2 diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and other crippling lifestyle diseases. Producers, distributors, and marketers of foods that contain toxins leading to the development of MSX should be held accountable for the ingredients in their products. More information can be found at PubMed, a service of the US National Library of Medicine.
The American public must realize that in order to eradicate the epidemic of obesity, we must force food manufacturers to utilize healthy ingredients in their products. In addition, our politicians have an obligation to protect our nation and future generation from being fed "Junk Food."
