Vintners' Brunch Big Winner for North Shore Hospice

This Sunday, 29 July 2007, twelve of Auckland's leading restaurants and twelve of New Zealand's leading wineries will come together at the SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre to raise funds for the North Shore Hospice Trust.

The Vintners' Brunch, sponsored by Bayleys North Shore, has become a must attend event with this year's brunch selling out a full two months in advance. The popularity of the event, and the need to cater for more people, means the event is being held at new venue sponsor, SKYCITY Auckland, for the first time.

SKYCITY Community Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Kylie Archer, says SKYCITY is excited to support the Vintners' Brunch - which is now in its eleventh year.

"The Vintners' Brunch is a fun - and delicious - way to raise money for an amazing organisation that does a lot for the North Shore Community."

"The 2007 Vintners' Brunch is part of SKYCITY's long-standing support of, and commitment to, community groups. Over the past three years the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust has also awarded $11,000 in grants to North Shore Hospice to upgrade or replace equipment," says Ms Archer.

Rosemary Such, event manager for North Shore Hospice, says the Vintners' Brunch is an integral part of the Hospice's annual fundraising programme.

"Hospice is a community funded facility that provides qualified care to ensure those with terminal illness have the best possible quality of life. Events like Vintners' Brunch ensure that North Shore Hospice can continue to look after around 500 people each year and offer support to their families and loved ones."

"I would like to thank Bayleys North Shore, SKYCITY, and all the wineries and restaurants involved for their hard-work and dedication to raising funds for North Shore Hospice".

Restaurants - Harbourside, Kapiti, Number 5, Opium, Orbit SKYCITY, Pontoon, Prego, Sugar Loaf, The Great Catering Company, The Hunting Lodge, The Shed and Toto.
