Healthphone appoints Senior Microsoft Director as CEO
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 11 April 2007 – Healthphone today announced the appointment of former Microsoft Corporation
senior director Debbi Gillotti as its Chief Executive Officer, effective 4 June. Ms Gillotti will lead the company’s
business expansion and establish an international operating headquarters in the Seattle, Washington area to support
Healthphone’s global customer base.
A former Chief Information Officer of Starbucks and Duracell Corporation, Ms Gillotti has held several senior management
roles at Microsoft over the past six years, most recently as Senior Director of Partner Strategy for the Worldwide
Public Sector business unit where she was responsible for business development with a global ecosystem of health,
government and education partners, as well as early-stage solutions incubation.
Healthphone’s founder and current CEO Matt Hector-Taylor will assume the role of President and Chief Strategy Officer,
focusing on new product research and market entry strategies
“Debbi’s decision to join Healthphone is a fantastic endorsement of the vision our company has for healthcare and the
strategies we have put in place to get there. Debbi’s depth and breadth of international experience and her global
Public Sector network will complement the Healthphone leadership team’s extensive healthcare experience,” says current
CEO, Matt Hector-Taylor.
Ms Gillotti’s relationship with Healthphone began in 2005 with the inception of the Collaborative Health Showcase
project in conjunction with the NZ Health IT Cluster. Healthphone has since become Microsoft’s Global Lead Solution
partner for long-term condition management. Long-term condition management is a key care component in community settings
such as aged care, hospice, disability and mental health.
Gillotti saw the position at Healthphone as an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong career goal.
“While I have enjoyed working in large corporations like Microsoft, the opportunity presented by Healthphone was truly
special. The ability to leverage my collective management experience to build industry leadership in the
software-as-a-service space was tremendously inviting. Having had the pleasure of working with Matt and his colleagues
over the past several years, and experiencing their talent, passion and energy, it’s very rewarding to take on this new
challenge.
“I appreciate the Board’s confidence in my leadership ability and I’m especially thrilled that Matt will continue to
work alongside our team to help drive the next generation of Healthphone offerings. We’ve just scraped the surface of
what’s really possible,” says Ms Gillotti.
Within the last year Healthphone has opened offices in Australia, Canada, Singapore, United States and New Zealand, with
plans to enter the United Kingdom and Hong Kong by the end of June. Future expansion is planned for Europe and Latin
America.
