Falsified Claims Undermine MOH's Credibility
Ministry's Falsified Claims Undermining its Credibility
Press Release: Ron Law & Barbara Sumner Burstyn
The Ministry of Health continues to make unsubstantiated and falsified claims regarding the MeNZB vaccine.
Today's MOH press release [Ministry urges parents to fully immunise -MeNZB] falsely claims, "Overall, we used to have 213 epidemic strain cases a year in under-20s, now we see around a quarter of that. We used to have seven deaths a year. So far this year there have been two."
The following graphs of Ministry of Health's own data clearly shows the decline of the epidemic strain of meningococcal disease in under-20s began well before the rollout of MeNZB and has continued unabated.
The number of deaths due to the epidemic strain in under-20s had declined to 2 in 2003, the year BEFORE the rollout began. There has NEVER been a year when there were seven deaths due to the epidemic strain of meningococcal disease in under-20s.
Meningococcal disease case numbers had collapsed in Maori and Pacific Island infants BEFORE the vaccine was rolled out.
By continuing to make fanciful unsubstantiated claims the Ministry of Health simply undermines the credibility of all vaccinations...
When caring mums and dads realise that the Ministry of Health has been falsifying and exaggerating claims about meningococcal disease, it is only natural that they will question the integrity of other Ministry of Health claims.
The Ministry of Health is undermining its own credibility by continuing to falsify its evidence.
