Nokia and Trelise Cooper help raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Trust

Nokia has teamed up with fashion designer Trelise Cooper to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Trust.

Nokia's limited edition pink 6101 phone and a specially designed Trelise Cooper phone purse can be ordered as of today at all Vodafone authorised dealers.

A contribution from the sale of each phone package will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Trust to fund on-going research into finding a cure for breast cancer. Nokia and its partners are hoping to raise in excess of $100,000 for the charitable organisation.

New Zealand has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the world and The Breast Cancer Research Trust is the only breast cancer charity in Australasia specifically dedicated to research and finding a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

Bruce Howe, General Manager of Nokia NZ, says that the launch of the pink Nokia 6101 phone provided the perfect opportunity to work with The Breast Cancer Research Trust.

"The launch of the phone coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month worldwide and presented Nokia with the ideal opportunity to help the Trust contribute to the ongoing battle to find a cure for this devastating disease."

To ensure the phone is a "must-have", Trelise Cooper has designed an exclusive corset-inspired phone purse to be included in all of the pink Nokia 6101 sales packs. The fashion designer, who is a key sponsor of The Breast Cancer Research Trust, was approached to participate in the venture by the Trust.

"Breast cancer is the most common cancer-related cause of death among women in New Zealand. I am delighted to be able to join with Nokia to support The Breast Cancer Research Trust and their dedication to ensuring a future free of Breast Cancer," says Ms Cooper.

Consumers can purchase the pink Nokia 6101 phone from late October, however, pre-orders will be taken from today at all Vodafone authorised dealers. The stylish phone boasts an integrated camera with quick click button and self-portrait capability, as well as an FM stereo radio. It is retailing at $299 and $20 dollars from each sale will be donated directly to The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
