Barnardos supports PlunketLine
Barnardos is delighted that Plunket has decided to continue the operation of PlunketLine.
“Plunket has a long-standing and well-earned reputation in New Zealand for working hard in the community to provide healthier outcomes for children,” says Murray Edridge, the Chief Executive of Barnardos New Zealand.
“And Plunket considers PlunketLine a fundamental part of its service, enabling it to remain relevant and useful to children and their families by blending its face-to-face services with telephone and other technology based services,” says Murray.
“The effectiveness of PlunketLine is apparent with thousands of families each month calling the freephone, confident that the advice provided will be best attuned to the needs of their child and/or children.”
“It is vital to support and retain services, such as PlunketLine, which are already available and effective within the community. The amount of work and experience tied up with such a service cannot be easily replicated once they are gone.”
We support PlunketLine as a fine example of a community-based service delivering positive outcomes for the community it works in.”
