Skycity The Place To Be For Live Sports Action

Skycity The Place To Be For Live Sports Action This Winter

ALL BLACKS 2006 SEASON:

Sky Tower will be "blacked out" (and will not be lit) from dusk tonight to support the All Blacks as they take on Ireland live from Hamilton.

Key All Black matches in the upcoming 2006 season (including the Tri Nations and the 2006 Internationals) will feature live and free on the giant TV screens throughout SKYCITY. In addition, Sky Tower will be blacked out at night for key matches and there will be a range of fun events and promotions for customers with "Black Out" parties held in the New City Bar.

"Black-Out" parties at SKYCITY Auckland feature grandstand style seating to catch all the action of the match on the giant screen, promotion girls, Steinlager discounts, comperes, giveaways and spot prizes.

SKYCITY hosted similar "Black Out" parties for the All Black Rugby World Cup matches in 2003 to show support for the national rugby team.

SKYCITY Hamilton is also joining in with All Black theming throughout the venue. Both bars will screen all the major games on the giant screen, Steinlagers will be discounted and there will also be giveaways and All Black jersey prizes.

FIFA World Cup:

Hailed as one of the world's largest sporting events, the 18th FIFA World Cup kicks off this weekend and SKYCITY will feature every game live on giant screens throughout the entertainment complex.

In addition, for every 7am game in the World Cup, SKYCITY has set up a large screen in Fortuna Buffet Restaurant enabling fans to have breakfast and ensure they do not miss any action.
