General Manager appointed for HIQ Limited

Pat McShane, an experienced IT professional from the banking sector, has been appointed to take up the reins as General Manager of HealthIntelligence Ltd (HIQ),

Mr McShane replaces Andre Snoxall, who held the role since the formation of HIQ, but earlier this year announced his intention to relocate overseas.

HIQ, which is jointly owned by two District Health Board (Capital & Coast DHB and Taranaki DHB), and provides them with information and communications technology and support services.

HIQ Chairman Bob Henare says Mr McShane’s appointment is the result of an extensive recruitment and selection process.

“We were delighted at the high calibre of candidates that the role attracted, and are very pleased that Pat has accepted the appointment,” Bob Henare says.

“He brings a wealth of experience in the information technology field, with an extensive background in the leadership and management of large IT operations,” Mr Henare says.

Pat McShane is currently Manager Infrastructure Data and Infrastructure Projects at the ANZ National Bank of New Zealand. Prior to that he held a number of senior roles at the BNZ from 1995 to 2003, most recently as the bank’s Manager Network and Direct Customer Services, and was responsible for the management of a range of major projects and systems solutions.

Pat completed an MBA with Distinction in 2002, and is married with two young children.

He is expected to take up his new role in early October.
