HBDHB Calls For Requests For Proposals

HBDHB Calls For Requests For Proposals

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board chief executive, Chris Clarke, said the DHB was calling for Requests for Proposals from organisations who want to work with the board to improve the way home-based and community services are provided for older people.

“We know there is a better way, as at the moment services are fragmented, there is duplication and often a lack of awareness of how to access services. If we keep doing things the same way, we will get the same results…we are committed to improving outcomes, and this will require a change in the way we work.

“The DHB is looking for innovation - with a focus on providing the right care in the right place. There is a trend towards ‘Ageing in Place’ which will see increasing numbers of older people remaining in their own homes with packages of support services, allowing them to maintain their health and independence.

“We’re particularly interested in a range of partnerships, and innovative ideas that will improve outcomes. Solutions proposed must be sustainable, and take in to account a range of factors including matching HBDHB & government priorities for health and disability support services; address key issues for older people in Hawke’ Bay, (e.g. managing complex medical regimens); be cost effective, and have appropriate technology support.

Further information is available in the ‘Request for Proposal for Development of Community Services in Hawke’s Bay’ document available on HBDHB’s website www.hawkesbaydhb.govt.nz or from Annie Quinlivan, phone (06) 873 2107.
