For the first time in 50 years, New Zealand is hosting the triennial forum for occupational health professionals from Asia Pacific region.
Topics of interest include:
- Border Security and Biological Threat – health risks bioterrorism poses to frontline border control staff;
- Pandemonic Pandemonium and the Airline Industry – how the aviation industry could spread, and be a casualty of, an avian flu pandemic;
- Risk Assessment for Pesticides – the impacts of pesticides on the people who work with them and eat treated food;
- Practical Computer Alternatives – cheap and simple solutions available to help people with migraine, dyslexia and OOS to use computers in their workplaces.
The 18th Asian Conference on Occupational and Environmental Health has as its theme Emerging Industries in the Asia Pacific Region. More than 300 health professionals working in the field are expected to attend.
