Cure Kids ambassador Jonah Lomu (pictured) makes the first bid in the Grays on-line auction officially launching the fundraising campaign being held in conjunction with the Cure Kids Great Adventure Race.
The race has attracted 35 teams representing 20 companies and will be held in the Waitakere Ranges on April 8. Teams of four compete in the Southern Traverse style multi-sports race to raise funds for Cure Kids for research into children’s illnesses.
The on-line auction starts on Wednesday March 9 and runs until March 11.It has a number of exclusive items which are expected to attract strong bidding.
Jonah has personally donated a limited edition bronze cast of one of his rugby boots worn in the 2001 All Black games against Argentina, Ireland and Scotland to the auction.
He says he actively supports Cure Kids because the charity makes such a difference to the health and quality of life of young New Zealanders.
Other auction items include the lease of a BMW and Accor luxury hotel accommodation, corporate box tickets for the Lions versus All Blacks game in Auckland in June and a magnum of wine signed by the late Sir Peter Blake.
