Nurse Maude Nurses’ Vote to Settle
Nurse Maude Association Chief Executive Officer Ingrid Thomas is delighted that the Association’s nurses who are members of the New Zealand Nurses’ Organisation have voted to settle their contract.
“We are reassured that the situation has been resolved in such a positive manner. From the start of negotiations we were genuine in our endeavours to settle the contract,” Mrs Thomas says.
Nurses met with NZNO last week to re-consider the original offer with an additional sick leave provision and voted to accept the terms. The Association has agreed to work with the NZNO to develop ‘salary steps’, which will be implemented at the end of the current contract.
She says, “Nurse Maude highly values its nurses. We do recognise their dedication, skill and commitment and are proud of the work they do.”
Nurse Maude has been providing health care for over 100 years. Our staff are an integral part of the Association which enables us to deliver the excellent standard of patient care,” Ingrid Thomas says. “I am confident that Nurse Maude will continue to provide responsive and effective home care and nursing services to the community. ”
