Cancer Walker's Journey To Come To An End

Cancer Walker's Journey To Come To An End

Sergeant Nathan Blackler, a physical trainer for the New Zealand Army, is set to successfully complete his 1014km walk from Auckland to Christchurch, at Burnham Military Camp tomorrow at 3pm.

Having already achieved his goal to raise over $30,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation, he will be greeted at the Burnham Gymnasium (on Godley Road) by the camp's Acting Commander, Lt Col John Boswell and Child Cancer Foundation representatives. Colleagues, supporters, family and friends will also be there to cheer him over the finish line.

Following a welcome from the Burnham Kapahaka Group, Nathan will present the Child Cancer Foundation with an official cheque that totals all the money he has collected over the last five-weeks.

As a recovering cancer sufferer, Nathan set out to raise money for child cancer patients and their families and also to say thank-you to all those people who supported him during his battle with cancer.

Media are welcome at Burnham Military Camp to greet Nathan at the end of his walk tomorrow.
