Chief Executive Appointment Applauded
“The appointment of John Peters as the new chief executive of the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board is applauded,” said Mr Ian Powell, Executive Director of the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists, today.
“We have enjoyed constructive working relations with Mr Peters in his previous various roles in the health system and we look forward to continuing this in his new position.”
“Mr Peters is a particularly able person of stature whose personality and conduct invoke trust and confidence. He is acutely aware of the critical importance of establishing close collaborative relationships with senior doctors and other health professionals.”
“The Nelson Marlborough DHB is fortunate that it was able to recruit someone of Mr Peters’ calibre given that he would be highly employable in any senior position of responsibility in the health system. He stands head and shoulders above many current incumbents.”
“The DHB has made an excellent choice,” concluded Mr Powell.
