Stuttering is common with around 1% of the population who stutter Early intervention by a Speech-Language Therapist for children is crucial to prevent stuttering from developing further Help can be sought for children and adults by contacting your local hospital or Group Special Education branch.
“Speak Easy” is a self-help support group that exists to provide support and information for people who stutter, their families and professionals Speech language therapy services are available at Gisborne Group Special Education, Gisborne Hospital or Chelsea Hospital.
