Margaret Dotchin has been appointed as acting general manager of Adult Services at Auckland City Hospital, effective July 5.

Ms Dotchin has been Nurse Leader for Medical Services at the hospital in Central Auckland working in partnership with the general manager, Adult Services. She will continue in her role as Nurse Leader and be responsible for strategic and operational management of adult medical, surgical and heart and respiratory services at the hospital.

Ms Dotchin replaces Mr Meng Cheong who has resigned to take up the position of chief operating officer for Capital and Coast District Health Board.

“Margaret has been with the organisation since 1989, knows the hospital and its issues really well and her nursing perspective will be a great support to me and my team,” said Dr Murray.

Dr Murray also thanked Mr Cheong for his service to the hospital and wished him well in his new role.

“Meng has worked with us through our most challenging period of the Building and Change Programme. He has made an outstanding contribution to Auckland District Health Board and Auckland City Hospital,” he said.

Ms Dotchin, who has been a registered nurse since 1985, has held a number of management and clinical advisor roles in Auckland DHB. She has been a Nurse Leader since February 2002.
