Oamaru Nurses Win Parity
Oamaru Nurses Win Parity
New Zealand nurses Organisation members at Oamaru Hospital have voted to accept a new offer from their employer which gives them parity with their South Island colleagues, NZNO organiser Kay Squires said today.
The settlement comes after protracted negotiations and industrial action.
“NZNO members have achieved what they set out to do,” said Kay Squires.
“This settlement brings them in line with their colleagues across the South Island.”
Kay Squires said NZNO members were relieved the negotiations were over.
“Oamaru nurses hope they won’t have to go through this experience again,” she said.
“Now they have achieved parity they don’t want to be forced to take strike action in the future to maintain parity.”
