IHC and union reach agreement

A meeting between IHC and the Service and Food Workers Union has led to a halt in strike action and the lifting of employee lock out notices.

Last night’s meeting reached agreement on a formula for paying back pay to staff, the issue which led to the breakdown in negotiations between IHC and the union. This will now go to members for formal ratification.

Legal proceedings brought by the union have been adjourned and will be formally withdrawn once the agreement is ratified.

Union National Advocate, John Ryall, and IHC CEO, Ralph Jones, are both pleased that the long negotiations are at an end, pending ratification, and acknowledged that the past few months had been a very difficult time for staff.
