Public meeting to discuss proposed changes to maternity services
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is holding a public meeting at the Civic Theatre in Waipukurau at 10:00am on Tuesday 18 November 2003 to discuss proposed changes to maternity services provided from the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre.
Earlier this month Hawke’s Bay District Health Board members resolved to consult with the community over changing the provision of maternity services provided in Central Hawke’s Bay to focus on providing antenatal and postnatal care only, with all women giving birth at Ata Rangi maternity unit in Hastings, then transferring back to Waipukurau for their postnatal care.
Details around how the new system could work will be discussed at the public meeting. The meeting will be attended by staff from the CHB Health Centre and Ata Rangi Maternity Unit. All members of the public with an interest in maternity services are welcome to attend.
Anyone wanting to comment on the proposal is welcome to contact Trish Giddens at the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre. Email: trish.giddens@hawkesbaydhb.govt.nz Phone: (06) 858 9090 Fax: (06) 858 7200 Post: CHB Health Centre, 1 Cook Street, Waipukurau
