Some Outpatient Services Shift to New Location
A number of Gisborne Hospital’s outpatient services including antenatal clinics will be held in the Morris Adair
Building from October 13.
Other outpatient services to be held in the Morris Adair Building from that date are the adult diabetes clinics, and
outpatient appointments with Gisborne Hospital’s dietitians.
All these clinics were previously held in various Gisborne Hospital locations.
The clinic relocation is another step in the development of the Morris Adair Building, formerly Gisborne Hospital’s old
maternity ward, says Gisborne Hospital Acting Group Manager Medical, Child and Women’s Health, Robert Hunter.
“It is great to see the three-storey building being used again, and the move will help relieve congestion in the
outpatients department.”
Anyone wanting more information on their dietitian or adult diabetes clinics, or their antenatal outpatient
appointments, can contact Gisborne Hospital on (06) 869 0500.
October 13 will also see the Morris Adair Building become administrative home for the Maternity Smoking Cessation
coordinator ,TDH’s team midwifery service and the soon-to-be-established Family Violence Intervention coordinator.
Services already in the Morris Adair Building are the Public Health Unit, Community Mental Health Services, Te Puna
Waiora (the funder arm of Tairawhiti District Health), Alzheimers Gisborne and the Gisborne East Coast Cancer Society.
