Parents Centre launches new birth magazine

Parents Centre launches new birth magazine

15 August 2003

Birth Story is a new annual magazine designed as a rich source of information for women who are pregnant, and their families and whanau.

Birth Story combines good quality information from expert contributors with personal birth stories by parents from around New Zealand – all presented in an accessible, user-friendly way.

Expectant mothers, their partners and families will find the magazine invaluable as a guide to the many and varied services and information sources available in New Zealand.

Birth Story will help pregnant women and their whanau learn more about: -
- Choosing an LMC
- Where to give birth
- Fathers and their expectations and experiences
- What does labour really feel like
- How should I monitor my labour
- Nutrition during pregnancy and lactation
- Preparing for a normal birth
- Recognising and coping with postnatal depression
- Multiple births
- Planning for the unexpected – premature births, disability, stillbirth
- Pain relief
- Relationship changes
- Immunisation
- And much more

Birth story would make a great gift for anyone preparing to welcome a new baby into their family.

Birth story will be available at some pharmacists, and retail outlets, or from PCNZ national office: reception@parentsCentre.org.nz or 04 560-1990, for only $8.95 (plus p+p).
