Canterbury Nurses and Midwives In Mediation Tomorrow with DHB
Negotiators of the Collective Agreement covering 2,500 nurses and midwives employed by Canterbury DHB will attend mediation in Christchurch tomorrow, 22 August, said New Zealand Nurses Organisation advocate Chris Wilson today.
Chris Wilson said at negotiations on 18 August the parties could not reach a settlement and both parties have agreed to attend mediation to find a way to progress the negotiations.
NZNO and Canterbury DHB have had a total of four days negotiations on the collective agreement so far.
"NZNO and Canterbury DHB have agreed to use the mediation services of the Employment Relations Service to enable us to move forward," said Chris Wilson.
Today NZNO
is also in mediation with the five other South Island DHBs
over the negotiation of the multi employer collective
agreement covering nurses, midwives and health care
assistants across the rest of the South
Island.
