Plunket’s Base Ethos To Remain
Plunket's volunteer members are emphatic that Plunket is not to move away from the base ethos of ensuring that well
child health services are available to those who need them.
But at the organisation's national conference just over a week ago, volunteer members asked Plunket to look at services
that could be charged for.
Plunket chief executive, Paul Baigent, said that there are already some services which are funded by contributions from
families.
"Families currently pay towards funding our nationwide car seat rental programmes and some toy libraries, playgroups and
coffee groups.
"We will report back to our members when we have looked into the possibilities, probably at the next conference or at
next year's annual general meeting," he said.
