WHAT: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Friday October 11 is Pink Ribbon Day. There will be volunteer collectors selling Pink Ribbons on the streets, so show your support and buy a Pink Ribbon.
WHO: Pink Ribbon Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month is the initiative of The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
More than 2000 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. One in 10 New Zealand women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.
WHY: Funds will go towards holding nationwide public workshops on breast cancer and breast health education, and the Foundation's breast cancer research fund.
