The family wishes to thank the public for their overwhelming show of support at John’s funeral today.
The funeral has allowed the family to take another step in their grieving of the tragic loss of their father, son and close friend.
The number of flowers, tributes and cards for John continue to stream in to the family, and have given the family some sense of hope at a tragic time in their lives.
The Vaughan family are understandably still totally devastated at their loss and need time to deal with the tragedy away from the public eye.
The family understands that John’s death has had a significant public impact in New Zealand, and therefore allowed a funeral service that was consistent with this. With the funeral now over the Vaughan family would like to step away from the public eye so they can continue their grieving process privately.
Family, friends, and staff at the ASB BANK have shown continual support, and the Vaughan’s are extremely grateful for this.
