Visit Of Delegates From The State Intellectual Property Office, People’s Republic Of China
The Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) is to host a delegation of senior officials and legal experts from the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), People’s Republic of China, next month.
The 5-day visit, from July 2 to July 6, is considered by both countries to be an ideal occasion in which the Offices can explore issues of bilateral co-operation.
The delegates will host a seminar on the Chinese patenting system. The seminar will present business, entrepreneurs and inventors with a valuable opportunity to get first-hand information about current developments in the intellectual property environment in China. The seminar will be held ath the ParkRoyal Hotel, Wellington, on 5 July 2001, starting at 1.30pm.
Whilst in New Zealand the delegates will visit research organisations and law and patent attorney firms to gain an appreciation of New Zealand practices and systems. In turn, New Zealand practitioners will receive worthwhile exposure to the laws and related rules for protecting patents efficiently in China.
