Parenting Place partnership with Parents Centre
“It’s incredibly exciting that after 25 years, the two largest parenting organisations in the country are teaming up to support whānau.” Greg Fleming, CEO of Parenting Place.
Last week, Parenting Place and Parents Centre signed an agreement committing to collaboratively supporting families across all of Aotearoa. Parenting Place and Parents Centre combined have almost 95 years of experience in walking alongside parents. By coming together, the organisations will extend their reach to over 300,000 New Zealanders each year, with the hope of reaching many more in the years to come.
Heather Hayden, CEO of Parents Centre shares, “We see ourselves as paddling our waka in the same direction. We’re joining together to journey with parents as they grow great children. Parents Centre is at the beginning of the journey, providing childbirth education and support. Parenting Place continues with parents throughout the rest of a child’s life.”
The partnership will be focused specifically on supporting parents through the transition of receiving care before their baby is born, to receiving support all the way through to their child’s first day of school.
Te Karere Scarborough, Strategic Partnerships Director at Parenting Place shares, “Whānau grow and develop around the journey of their children, I’m excited that we will be able to work together with Parents Centre to do the same. From antenatal through to schooling, it’s exciting to be able to walk alongside families together.”
Both Parenting Place and Parents Centre are dedicated to successfully engaging in an authentic bicultural journey as they seek to serve New Zealand together.
