Unitec Institute of Technology’s Interim Chief Executive Merran Davis will continue to lead the organisation through 2019.
Unitec Commissioner Murray Strong said he was delighted to extend Ms Davis’s appointment, particularly with sector changes expected next year under the Roadmap 2020 project.
“The excellent work which Merran, the Executive Leadership Team, and all the staff at Unitec have undertaken has put the institute back on the path to ongoing success for its students.
“Having the continuity and stablity of Merran’s leadership will help to ensure staff and students are well supported to achieve their goals.”
Ms Davis was first appointed Interim Chief Executive in June 2018 and also retains her role as Unitec Executive Dean.
“This is an amazing place where our staff and students achieve great things every day,” Ms Davis said.
“We are in a period of major change for our sector and I appreciate the opportunity and support to continue building on the successes we’ve had this year and to lead the outstanding team at Unitec.”
