PORSE has selected the winning photo in the 2019 Calendar Photo Competition.
It was the look of “pure joy” on Casey Adamson’s face that won the judges over, PORSE Education and Training General Manager Erin Maloney says.
The competition focused on finding the best photo of a child under five in their natural environment – an environment that PORSE knows children thrive in, Mrs Maloney says.
Each year, PORSE In-Home Childcare produce a top-quality calendar, capturing some of the magical moments of childhood, which is distributed to families around the country. This year PORSE gave families the opportunity to be involved, with the chance to see their child feature on the cover.
A judging panel at PORSE selected the photo of Casey standing smiling on the dairy cow loading ramp as the winner.
Casey’s mother Amy Adamson says her three-year-old daughter was delighted to learn she’d be on the cover of the 2019 PORSE Calendar.
It’s a special photo for the family as it’s taken on Casey’s grandparent’s Atiamuri farm.
“Casey loves the outdoors and often goes exploring on her grandparent’s farm. She especially likes climbing on the loading ramp which is where the photo is taken,” Mrs Adamson says.
The photo was taken as part of a fundraiser for the local playcentre which Casey attends with her mum when she is not in PORSE care.
“Casey has the best of both worlds being in home-based care with PORSE and being able to have some home-time with me and play-time at playcentre,” Mrs Adamson says.
As well as having her photo on the 2019 PORSE Calendar, Casey receives prizes from competition partners Pureborn Organic and Expressions of Winter.
