Women in web! Dev Academy announces 8 new Women in Tech scholarships
Enspiral Dev Academy have partnered up with workplace training provider Skills.org to announce the launch of 8 new Women in Tech scholarships, worth $9000 each.
Technology is one of the fastest growing sectors, both globally and in New Zealand. We know that a more diverse industry is good for companies, products and end users, and makes for a better world.
Dev Academy is passionate about enabling more diversity to enter tech, so are thrilled that these scholarships will remove barriers for people who identify as women.
CEO Rohan Wakefield notes, “It’s time to shake up the industry, and allow the opportunities in tech to be extended to people from all demographics.”
Any woman who is passionate about getting into web development can apply for this scholarship by filling out an application form on the Dev Academy website.
Project Manager Gina Stevens-Rembe notes, “We’re looking for people with a passion for technology, specifically for working in web development, and who have the tenacity and drive to thrive in our programme.”
Upon acceptance to the programme, applicants must complete Phase Zero, a 9-16 week home based preparation module, before beginning the in-class web development bootcamp on 6 August or 15 October, 2018. So it’s crucial that applicants get in quick.
Dev Academy’s campuses are in Eden Terrace, Auckland and Cuba Street, Wellington. For more information on the course check out www.devacademy.co.nz.
This scholarship is available for anyone who identifies as a woman and is a New Zealand resident. If this sounds like you, head over to http://devacademy.co.nz/women-in-tech/ and submit an application. What have you got to lose!
