Park Road Post Production invites aspiring Kiwi film makers into industry training programme

Wellington, New Zealand: Park Road Post Production, the award-winning facility behind the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, is joining up with New Zealand’s film and digital industry training institutions to offer aspiring Kiwi film makers an advanced industry training programme.

The industry intensive programme offers hands-on experience and is designed to help participants fast-track their development in film and television post production, learning alongside Academy-Award winning engineers, technical practitioners and artists in a world-class post production facility.

The 10-day programme was launched in 2016 attracting both international and New Zealand students.

Participants work in small groups gaining an in-depth understanding of sound and picture essentials including picture conform and grading, sound editing and mixing and VFX. It gives students one-on-one attention from experts in visual and sound techniques.

Park Road is teaming up with three industry training institutions - Media Design School,

New Zealand Broadcasting School and South Seas Film & Television School, with each supporting two students to take part.

Cameron Harland, Park Road’s CEO, says the industry intensive grew out of the company’s work supporting industry development and talent and is exposing up and coming film makers to industry practices, professionals and opportunities.

“From our first programme last year we have seen participants go on to secure jobs in the screen industry so it is proving valuable as a practical development opportunity.

“We are also delighted to have the support of these three training organisations so that their students can also access this opportunity.”

The 2017 programme will run from September 4 to 15.
