Tim Tipene - School Failure to Award Winning Author

Published: Mon 3 Jul 2017 09:51 AM
Tim Tipene spoke to students at the Auckland Writers Festival and shared some of his inspirational story of overcoming a violent and abusive childhood, and breaking the cycle, to become an Award Winning Author and Community Hero.
When Tim Tipene started school he ended up in special classes for everything. He was in special classes to help him with maths, with reading. He even had to see a lady in the school staff room who was a speech therapist, and her job was to help him talk properly, because he couldn't talk properly. And then a new teacher came to the school, and she changed Tim's life forever.
This is how it happened .
