Education Initiatives at the Pah Homestead

Education initiatives at the Pah Homestead highlight young upcoming artists and curators.
On Monday 12th November, the Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre hosted the 5th Annual Secondary School Wallace Art Awards. This year’s awards received over 500 entries nationwide, with 38 finalists. The finalists of the Secondary School Wallace Art Awards will be on display at the Pah Homestead from the 13 September till 6 November.

First Place - Falefia Roache, Ceremonial Koga ‘i”, Photography
Epsom Girls High School
Second Place - Lui Fuataga, Fijian Warriors, Photography
Kelston Boys High School
Third Place - George Li, The Edge of Heaven, Photography
King’s College
Highly Commended - Kavita Pillay, Marshall, Painting
Mairehau High School
The Awards will be shown alongside the Perch Project, a new education initiative from Wallace Arts Trust. Perch Project sees two curatorial proposals selected from secondary school art history students. The Perch Project will display the work of 3 young curators from Diocesan School for Girls, Sophie Clark, Bri Leonard-Fuller, & Ariella Rosenbaum-Raynish and a curator from Carmel College, Marion Breinhorst.
