Outward Bound Launches Inaugural Women in Leadership Course
Professional development will take on a new meaning in September when women will trade their work place for the bush and their meeting rooms for huts in Anakiwa at Outward Bound’s first Women in Leadership course.
The bespoke course is designed for any current or aspiring managers to discover their potential and focus on building courage and resilience – essential traits in any effective leader.
The Queen Charlotte Sound will provide an outdoor classroom for female managers to learn to positively take control and break barriers in a business environment.
“True leadership is built from the inside out and although the Outward Bound activities will be similar to other courses involving sailing, the solo experience, scaling rock faces and jumping off jetties, the focus will definitely be on building mettle, developing self-awareness and creating a supportive peer network,” says course facilitator, Tania Gough of Savvy at Work.
Suitable for women over the age of 20 who pass a medical test, the course will take place from 10 to 17 September in Anakiwa, Marlborough Sounds. For course information, visit www.outwardbound.co.nz/women-in-leadership/ or phone 0800 688 927.
