Kathy Wolfe appointed as new Chief Executive of Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand

Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand (ECNZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive, Kathy Wolfe.
Kathy joins the Association following the departure of Nancy Bell, after 12 years in the role.
‘The Association welcomes and supports Kathy Wolfe as our new Chief Executive,’ says Rosina Taniwha, President of ECNZ. ‘Kathy brings a strength in leadership experience to the role and we look forward to her navigating our 53 years strong Association into the future.’
She is passionate about education and is excited and looking forward to leading Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand. Kathy is an experienced senior executive who has worked in multiple industries including not for profits and especially member based organisations.
Kathy believes strongly that every child in New Zealand deserves the highest possible quality education and is looking forward to strongly advocating this position on behalf of the Association. She is also a firm believer that all New Zealand children have the right to know and enjoy the dual cultural heritage of Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnered along with their own cultural heritage.
Kathy has led strategic programmes with a strong vision for robust education, learning and training outcomes. She has worked in collaborative partnerships and brings to Te Rito Maioha current relationships with central government; Ministry of Business, Employment and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education Commission, New Zealand Qualifications Authority, and various other agencies involved in changing and implementing educational policy and delivering performance outcomes. Her experience includes the development of new programmes, services and resources to meet the changing needs of the sector which include blended learning delivery, qualification and resource development.
A start date is yet to be confirmed. John Diggins will continue in the role as Acting Chief Executive until this time.
Te Rito Maioha maintains its focus in an advocacy role for ECE, and is committed to the delivery of high quality tertiary programmes to the early childhood education (ECE) sector.
