Otago Polytechnic is about to host a delegation from Guangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute in China, who are keen to look at the link between education and worksite training, and on-site techniques.
“Guangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute approached us last year seeking insights into apprenticeship training, setting up construction courses and enterprises and training their construction teachers,” said Mike Waddell, Otago Polytechnic Director of Communications.
“We are delighted to host this first delegation from the Guandong province to Dunedin and are pleased that we will have an ongoing relationship withGuangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute through an exchange of staff and students and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding,” he said.
The four person delegation will be welcomed to Otago Polytechnic at 9am, Wednesday 16 March.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding will take place at 11.30am Thursday, 17 March.
