New CEO Appointed to Te Whanau O Hato Petera Trust
The trustees of Te Whanau o Hato Petera Trust have appointed Vivian Te Mana Hahipene to the position of CEO at a meeting held last night at Te Kamaka Marae at Hato Petera College in Auckland.
Vice Chairman Rudy Taylor says Mr Hahipene who has a science and extensive management background brings all the skills and expertise needed for the role along with a belief in the kaupapa of the trust and its vital role in the iconic Maori boarding school.
Mr Hahipene says as a former pupil I am one of a group of people passionate about Hato Petera being a school of choice and excellence.
“My role as CEO of the whanau trust is to co-ordinate the boarding school staff and my immediate job is to seek expressions of interest from those who would like to be considered for the role of house parents for our boarding pupils.
Mr Taylor says the renovated boarding hostel is now ready for the arrival of this year’s group of students and he is very proud of all those who worked so hard over recent weeks to bring the buildings up to standard.
“All the raruraru of the past is now over and the whanau trust eagerly awaits the final signoff from the Ministry of Education.
“We have met with the MOE this week and are meeting with the Bishop today and we are hopeful of full support so we can welcome back our boarding students for the 2016 academic year.”
