Start your career with help from Ballance

There’s still time for secondary students with an interest in furthering their studies in agriculture or engineering to apply for a helping hand from a Ballance Agri-Nutrients scholarship.

Applications for the farm nutrient co-operative’s annual scholarship programme close on 30 October 2015.

Ballance scholarships are awarded to four successful candidates, providing $4,000 each year for up to three years of tertiary level study in general primary industry or in process engineering. The scholarships are open to immediate family members of Ballance shareholders or company employees.

Warwick Catto, Science Strategy Manager at Ballance said New Zealand is rich with diverse opportunities for agricultural and engineering students. Graduate development programmes are run by agricultural-focused businesses, right through to the Ministry for Primary Industries which could lead to a career setting biosecurity initiatives or creating policy and standards to keep our sector safe. These are specific pathways for career development and all start with the right tertiary degree,” he said.
