WINTEC STUDENTS TAKE TOP ACCOLADES IN NZ LANDSCAPE DESIGN AWARDS
The oriental garden created by Wintec Landscape Diploma Students was the clear favourite in the NZ Landscape Design Awards – People’s Choice Award, as voted by visitors to the 2015 Waikato Home & Garden Show.
The students’ design concept will be re-created at Hamilton Gardens’ in a space near the Kitchen Garden.
The same garden also won the Gold Judges’ Award in the competition, which was presented at the event’s awards ceremony on Thursday night.
The student’s involved are Ange Edwards, Archana Singh, Jessica Skipper, Tyler Pere and Steven Thomson, who have been tutored by previous NZ Landscape Design Awards winner, Jan Latham.
They received a substantial prize package including $1,000 worth of advertising from NZME, $2,000 worth of advertising from Waikato Times and $1,000 of product from Revital/Growell.
The New Zealand Landscape Design Awards have been a hallmark of the Waikato Home & Garden Show for more than twenty years. Many successful landscape designers have launched their careers here and have gone on to become award winning designers and win awards at the Ellerslie and Chelsea Flower Shows.
